Employment Process

Thank you for your interest in employment with the City of La Marque. Please read the following information; It is provided to assist you in understanding the employment process of the City of La Marque.

Advertised Job Titles

Applications are accepted for advertised job titles only. You must specify the position(s) for which you are applying. View the current City of La Marque job listing, which are updated daily, and employment application (PDF).

If you wish to be considered for more than one position at a time, a separate application with the appropriate title must be submitted for each position.

Unless a specific closing date is indicated, position(s) will remain open until notice is withdrawn. Positions are subject to close without notice.

Applications

Photocopies may be substituted for an original application but a resume is not a substitute for an application. The resume must be attached as an addendum to the application.

Applications are accepted in person or by mail at City Hall, by email or faxed to 409-935-0401. 

Applications will be kept on file for 6 months. An application must be received prior to the deadline for the application to be considered.

Requirements

Relevant work experience may be considered an acceptable substitute for educational requirements.

In compliance with guidelines established by the City of La Marque, all employees whose position requires them to drive a city vehicle, or drive their personnel vehicle for city business, will be required to have a safe driving record.

Special Accommodation

Applicants who require special accommodation to complete an application or test should provide the Human Resources Department with 48 hours advanced notice.

Notification of Acceptance

Because of the volume of applications, telephone calls, and the time required to review each application, you will not be called or contacted unless you are selected for an interview. All applicants who are interviewed will be notified when a selection is made.

Drug Testing

The City of La Marque reserves the right to drug test all potential applicants for all positions.
